BEEP BEEP GRAMMA SHEEP1
Big, big thanks to all of our reviewers! Please let us know if we've missed a name so we can add it in to properly credit you. We really appreciate the time devoted to helping us get this mainsite-ready! It's been in the works for awhile… since December! http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-12843788/scp-idea:sheep-witch
The image source for the fluffy sheep is here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mouton_d%27Ouessant_180508_1.jpg the image is in the public domain.
The general concept for this is reminiscent of various guardian deities in mythology; sort of the same vibes as this one Russian folklore picture book2 I read about a forest witch who wants to be a grandmother, even though the village fears her because she looks scary. This is a sheep who is by all means a powerful sorceress—and she's happy to more or less mooch off the Foundation because hey, they founded a charity in her name and gave her magazines.
We hope you enjoy the read! To all those who are far from your families now, Grandma Sheep believes in you. <3
Hello hello!
I'm Kara, jr. staff for the site crit team!
I really enjoyed this, it was really cute with the grandma sheep. Great job!
Honestly, there really isn't much for me to crit here because it was written so well.
Some points:
- How do people confuse Grandmother sheep for a mascot? I guess if they're less like anthropomorphic, but still. I'm having a hard time visualizing the comparison from the picture shown vs what is discribed.
- I really like the detail of Grandma sheep having the final say with things to her nonprofit.
Honestly, I have nothing but praises for this SCP, great work you two! I can not wait to see what either of you write next.
Thank you for reading this short crit, I'm sorry I couldn't help more. Again, great job!

Thank you very much for the review! Quick question so we know what to edit:
How do people confuse Grandmother sheep for a mascot?
My headcanon is that the designed logo is simple enough that pretty much any regular sheep could work for a meet-and-greet. Give the sheep a hat and that's fine.

I'm not sure if it was unclear, but Grandma sheep is just a regular-looking sheep with a nice hat. Should we make that clearer?
Oh, that makes more sense. I think it could be explained a little better, but its still great!
I've added an adjective to the sentence:
SCP-5160 has the appearance of a non-anomalous geriatric sheep, but has not shown evidence of further aging.
Hopefully this clears things up!
I liked it. It's well written and the idea is unique and cute. It strikes a good balance of keeping an entity contained through negotiation without going fully down the path of appeasement. I think there are too few good-natured, heart-warming type articles coming out of the Foundation, so I'm happy to see another one. I like the idea of Foundation personnel leading knitting groups of D-Class personnel. I got a laugh out of the mental image of a massive and imposing Agent Skullcrusher, perhaps wearing a pair of glasses too small for his face, sitting around in a circle with several hard-bitten D-class knitting mittens and scarves.
The only note I have is just a minor one on the wording of a sentence.
SCP-5160 has been fitted with a custom-designed decorative tracking collar to allow for the Foundation to identify the locations it manifests at.
'locations it manifests at' sounds somewhat awkward to me. My suggestion would be something like 'locations in which it manifests'.

Probably the "at" at the end there. I've edited that sentence!

This is the best and it is now my headcanon. I feel like we need more stories about Foundation personnel doing more slice-of-life stuff, since if everything's high-stress and emergencies day in day out no one will want to show up for work. And if the Foundation can contain an ages-old powerful sheep witch with knitting circles… why wouldn't they?
Thank you very much for the comment!
i love sheep so goddamn much
1+
pastarasta1 is quick-talking and often scheming
Small note: the last paragraph mentions socks, but then describes an inscription on the inside of a hat. Was that meant to be the witch hat? Or did you switch the little girl''s gift from a hat to socks?
Something about this one, maybe the references to a loving grandma, one's childhood, or just the thought of a warm pair of mittens made me, and as cheesy as it is to say, smile with my soul.
It's an heartfelt +1 from me.

At first, this really reminded me of SCP-3246, but after I read it again, I think I like this one more than 3246. It seems more developed than just an "anomalous grandma," and I think they both deserve to stay, despite their obvious parallels.
+1
Comparing the two I'm surprised I didn't think of 3246. Incidentally, in earlier drafts of this there was originally more focus on Grandma Sheep being a Serpent's Hand affiliate who was on a sort of undercover vacation, but reviewers preferred the version without the SH mention and a bit more info in the table. We didn't want to make this too log-heavy though!
Thank you for the upvote and the nice comment!
So a fairy godmother witch, in the body of a sheep
love it
Yes, Yes, YES, A thousand times yes!
This is the type of SCP that you gotta find once in a while to contrast all those other, darker skips, and I love it. Young me would have loved a shirt that made me more self-confident. +1 for wizard grandma sheep.
Well… I'll be damned… a keter that not only isn't actively trying to hurt anyone, but is making the world a better place, one sad child at a time. +1 for a truly unique one.
