I had fun writing this, and I hope you have fun reading it. That's all, really.

Special thanks to Christopoulos for looking at this awhile back.

Reading the containment procedures, I really thought this was going to be an SCP version of the Random Chimp Event meme. +1
Edit: In Negotiations, you still have "where SCP-XXX-A-402 sits", you may want to change that.
I really liked this.
Btw is this:
Dune traces a circle onto his palm, preparing to [DATA EXPUNGED]
A reference to SCP-4776 per chance?
I enjoyed this a lot but I take issue with the occasional excessive redaction/expungement. Additionally, there's just something kind of… "off" about what you've done with the blockquote margins.
Also, are the occasional hyphens at the end of words meant to be em dashes?
I think the margins have something to do with the theme I used. If you have a fix, let me know.
They are meant to be em dashes, but I will try to use them less next article.
Although I really wonder why the Foundation would send someone so badly trained in diplomacy. He resorts to force right off the bat. Something about that seems kind of off.
Also, there's no such thing as a frequency of 200dB. It should be either "a frequency of 200Hz" or "an amplitude of 200dB" depending on what you meant. It should be noted however that a 200dB sound would probably kill most living organisms right where they stood, as well as cause a huge amount of collateral damage. That's almost as loud as a Space Shuttle launch as measured on the pad.
Headcanon time: Area-179 is pretty low on the Foundation's priority list. Safety > diplomacy, especially in the case of an entire population disappearing and the Foundation genuinely having no idea what they're up against. This doctor- stated in the article- has a knack for dealing with more dangerous objects, so why not send him? You've read other articles and see the stuff they deal with on a daily basis. This is a first encounter, and they're taking precautions because of the dangers that could be present when first dealing with an unknown anomaly.
I fixed the frequency as well. Thank you!
Hyper dimensional god monkeys. Welp. That's a thing now. +1 in the hopes we might get a canon following on that gives us some insight into the devourer and maybe some further shenanigans in monkeh town
