This month's random question is: what kind of random thoughts keep you up at night?

Hello there!

Name's tordzak. I am a Spanish grad student in the UK. I have been following the site for around 4 years and I had the feeling of somehow contribute to the amazing SCP narrative.

I do not have a clear path to follow, but I would like to participate either by giving feedback to new content or providing new entries. I have been deeply moved by some of the SCP stories and I would be satisfied to do my part and pay homage to some of their ideas and concepts.

As for interests/hobbies; history and cartography, cinema and board games, gaming, horror and hard science fiction - whenever I disconnect from working in my thesis.

Some random thoughts that keep me up at night are quite involved with some SCPs. The hugest one is the dread of death: the feeling of nothingness and disappearance in the void, the meaninglessness of our daily routines; and how lying in bed and closing your eyes feels so close to that. I also think about pink elephants.

My name is GonzaR and Im a future architect. I've been hearing a lot about this community and I finally decided to join when I found out that there was a website you could join, read, create, etc.

At the moment, I dont know what I want to do, but I'll try to help by contributing back anyway possible. I'll also try contributing by creating a story in the near future.

My hobbies include researching random stuff as well as reading it, I play video games and sports too, and I started picking up chess once again (I used to play back then when I was younger and then I stopped).

What keeps me up at night is similar to my colleague "tordzak", and its the dread of death. That emptiness and nothing, and how we dont have a sole purpose in life. That is something that keeps me up super late.

My name is Znakey. I've been a big fan of this community for a long time and decided to join because I wanted to be able to contribute to discussions and maybe even write an SCP.

I'm mostly here to chat, but I might write an SCP if I have an interesting idea.

My hobbies include playing video games (mostly league of legends, but other stuff too) and reading (usually horror books).

What keeps me up at night is that for all we know, we could be living in a dream or simulation. Like, what if I'm in a coma and I'm just dreaming all of this? Or what if our world is merely a simulation created by some higher beings? Stuff like that is the reason I usually fall asleep pretty late.

My english is not very good, but I'm trying to improve it, well I knew the SCP foundation when I was still studying in high school, at the beginning I didn't read so much and it didn't matter so much, but with time I started to read and become fascinated for this universe, I'm still not sure about how to contribute to the site, but I will definitely try, and what keeps me awake at night are reminders of the past and future ideas.

Hello everyone! My name is Morgane, I am 25 years old, I live in France.

I first came across the SCP Foundation wiki three or four years ago, I think. I don't remember how I arrived here (I often find things through clicking on links at half-random, following the flow of my mind.) I joined the French branch in 2017 but didn't do anything there, save from opening a (quite empty) Sandbox.

I have regained interest in the SCP Foundation wiki quite recently, and I thought I may enjoy giving a comment or two, or maybe even trying to write one idea I have for a SCP article (if I ever have the energy to do so), so I decided to join the main site.

I currently have no hobbies due to depression problems, but once I feel better, I intend to pursue my former hobbies: doodling, learning to play the piano, composing music, imagining a fictional language and a fictional country… Something I still keep doing, however, is reading webcomics.

Things that keep me up at night? Loneliness, trauma, and the aforementioned depression. To ignore them, I spend a lot of time on the internet, resulting in short nights. Ha!

I am happy to join this corner of the Internet.

Anyways, why am I here? Well, you can probably thank the Youtube video blogger Ekhert's Ladder for that. I was watching one of his videos, and found myself here, obsessively reading entries. Some have been better than others, but there have been others that have been inspiring, creative, and even downright iconic (SCP-682, what I call The Plot Armor Reptile, SCP-1342, or what I call: What NOT to do to your Closest, Possibly Only Ally, SCP-1000 Bigfoot, SCP-2273, or what I call YOU MANIACS and YOU BLEW IT UP!!!, etc.).

As someone who loves themes that explores extraterrestrial life, alternate universe, running gags (again, SCP-682), and more emotional themes, such as hope and fear, and cruelty and morality (Foundation seems to be somewhat lacking in far the latter, and has ample amounts of in the one before that), the SCP multiverse is a fascinating medium for exploring such concepts. And yes, I'm a huge nerd, who will without hesitation make TV culture references.

I hope to write one or two entries, since it isn't like I don't have at least one idea for an SCP. As for whether or not I actually complete it is another matter, since I have hobbies in drawing/Photoshop/Illustrator, and more than occasionally in video games, and hope to go back to school, and begin a major Political Science next season. Not to mention I'd need to stop reading entries long enough to write something of substance!

Don't expect me to write any stories of gore and dark creatures in darkened hallways here to steal the souls of any Mobile Task Forces foolish enough to try to capture him, and disembowel any researcher foolish enough to refer to him by "it" or "SCP" though. Do expect content like an alternate instance of SCP-682 getting a cameo, and being dragged out, kicking, screaming, and shouting threats to something that doesn't consider it welcome. Because that is my sense of humor.

The only thing that seems to keep me up at night is on nights where I know that I have to get up early in the morning, but my brain won't SHUT DOWN ALREADY! Oddly enough, knowing that my part time job isn't enough to afford to move out, and that it will take at least two years to do something about it does not keep me up, even though it probably should.

I'm Magpie. This week at least. Failed actor, decent voice artist, extremely successful alcoholic and animal handler extraordinaire-ish, I'm from the UK but now based on the East Coast.
Long-time reader (first was SCP-096 about ten years ago!) finally worked up the nerve to actually show my proverbial face and join up. Looking to contribute anyway I can, but definitely looking to drop an SCP of my very own someday soon.
Hobbies include reading, cookery, board games throughout history (yes, I know) and miniature painting.

What kind of random thoughts keep me up at night?
The family who live in the apartment above mine, founders and apparently still champions of the All-Brooklyn Midnight Bowling League. The thoughts I have concerning this family are not random. Quite focused, actually.

Hi there!

My name is Atlas (they/them), though I'll respond to pretty much anything. I got into SCP pretty recently thanks to a friend who writes stuff around here. I've been browsing the wiki pretty much constantly for the past two or so weeks. I'm not really sure I'll do much here besides lurk, but that might change at some point in the future. Who knows?

I spend most of my time playing video games and acting as a father to my two rat sons and my dog daughter. My other interests include MGS, fighting games, and music history. I also still have a plethora of German trivia carved into my brain from the four years I spent in German classes during high school.

Every night, I'm kept awake by a plague of self-doubt and fear that I will never amount to anything or achieve any goal I may set for myself in life. What if every dream and aspiration I've ever had has been perfectly achievable and the only thing keeping me from succeeding is myself? What if I do achieve the goal I think I want, only to realize that I only pursued it because it was easy, and my real goal is so much higher? What if I die before I figure out what I truly want in life?

Anyway, I'm very excited to finally be here and maybe put my overactive anxiety brain to use!
