Gwuh. Give a botanist the willies, whydontcha. It's just enough like a plant to make its humanity creepy as hell. +1.

Why does it need a painting of the french countryside? Isn't it (basically) blind?
Wait, it's a mural. Aren't they meant to be painted onto wet plastered and left to set or something similarly difficult?
Only gripe from me.
Depends on the mural type. But.
Fullhazard, severe myopia does not equal blind. It's just nearsighted.
You're thinking of a fresco, Aeish. A mural is just a painted wall, whereas with frescoes, you're supposed to paint the plaster while it's still fresh (hence the name), so the paint ends up effectively soaking into the plaster.
I think the mural is incidental. Just happened to be in the spot they decided to plant it.

I don't usually like 'things made of human flesh'-type SCPs, but this is excellent. +1 accordingly.
Next challenge, I dare you to find a pic that works for this SCP. Good luck.
Excelsior.
That said, this article is one of the rare SCP articles that actually benefits from not having an image. As gerald points out below, the imagery here is well done and allows each reader to conceptualize the SCP in whatever form is creepiest to them.
found a good base picture and started working on something for this in photoshop, but decided in the end it'd be too much work for too little gain, especially since i agree the article's better without a picture :P maybe some other time though. fun article.
I was on the fence about this one until I read that the tree had a heart attack. Glorious.
