Alright, this is SCP-3463. I hope you find it nice (Please find it nice) and if you find it nice then it's that's nice and thank you.
Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback, really appreciated.

SCP-3463 isn't a fan. If you've read update-A and version 1 of the file, you'd know that it's instead a memetic pinocchio.
SCP-3463 is Keter if somebody walked up to you and said that SCP-3463 is god and made water undrinkable then you would believe it even though water is still drinkable and SCP-3463 is not god. You would also tell everyone that because hey! God is a sadistic ventilator that made water undrinkable and we're all gonna die!
The Foundation doesn't want you to believe that it's a fan, it believes that it's a fan even though it's not.
I've switched between cognitohazard and infohazard 7 times already because people told me it was either an infohazard or a cognitohazard and I'm using cognitohazard because it's way broader than infohazard. It might as well be both at the same time.
I tried the paradox thing with this SCP and people didn't like it because it turned into a thing that makes you insane.
Handing it to the O5 Council is overkill. That's why five years later after update-255, they immediately got back to the old containment procedures. Yes, Dr U made a mistake, no that's not lolfoundation-y, he's just a human being who can make errors, just like every other person who worked on this.
Banning suggestions and new information is a double-edged sword. What if their knowledge of SCP-3463 was wrong?
No, SCP-3463 is not SCP-2950, SCP-2950 changes its form through perception of it. SCP-3463 never changes its form, it's only its appearance through errors among people that changes.
Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback, really appreciated.
This is a complete mindf*** and I love it. The format/layout of this makes the reader explore and discover more about this SCP. It's a unique entity. Even when you think you have it figured out, you're proven wrong to the point where you have to accept your complete lack of understanding of SCP-3463. Even the very end has me questioning if its correct or not, and leaves me to wonder about it. It makes a connection to the reader, as the supposed effects pertain to reading it. Lastly, this entity is a pure Keter. There is no hope of completely containing it, or at all. Its very existence poses a threat.
Overall, it's incredibly well done.
+1
I hope all prospective contributors read this and realize that a SCP does not have to be a Thing What Kills You.
This was well thought out and presented. It took me a couple of read throughs to fully get, but it was worth it. I'll remember this the next time I see a blue fan.
The opening password entry sequence really piqued my interest and the information that followed certainly didn't disappoint. The various 'iterations' of SCP-3463 were clever and the interview log demonstrated the potentially dangerous effects from exposure - and all from a thought.
What I also really enjoyed is that the SCP wasn't at any point 'SCP-3463 was responsible for the death of an entire population of a subcontinent' - but it COULD be. It didn't have to be shock horror, it in itself leaves the reader dwelling on all the horrifying possibilities for its memetic spread.
Clever stuff. +1.
This gave me an idea: We could have one of the iterations say it was responsible for the death of the entire population of a subcontinent.
No vote for now; I love the concept, but I noticed a lot of typos/clunky phrasing issues. I won't bother mentioning any specifics in case that was deliberate as a representation of the [DATA CORRUPTED] I noticed (automatic +1 if it was).
Situation normal, Cap'n! Spiraling out of control!
I've got my head wrapped around the concept, it reminds me of that God damn toaster. But I never really feel like the other shoe drops, or that the article does anything other than reiterate its central ideas. It feels like two-thirds of a complete article. It also kinda skirts around how much of a mindfuck this is with some of the more rigid parameters of its effect, I never really got an idea of how it could infest the human mind the way the goddamn toaster and similar articles do. -1
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Are people with speech and language disabilities not allowed near this one because, as one researcher says, "Any lie or mistake we make will cost us the truth"? If so, that's a neat way to approach a cognitohazard/memetic anomaly (I hope I'm using those words right, I'm new here).
I like the idea a lot, but similar to what Roget said, I think it could use a little more oomf - just a little more tease of why SCP-3463 is so potentially dangerous. Otherwise, it's certainly a cool twist. +1
Also, would you be open to allowing me to edit some of the spelling/grammar mistakes? I'd like to get my feet wet, if at all possible.
Awesome idea!!! Formatting could use a little bit more work, but besides that, best new SCP I've read in quite a while.
Haven't read the article yet, but how similar is this to SCP-2950?
This sort of reminds me of SCP-1184, in the way that the Foundation still isn't entirely sure about its details, due to its abilities.
Also, this ability is extremely similar to 1184, and could be abused in a similar fashion.
To quote the author, SpookyPizza: "if somebody walked up to you and said that SCP-3463 is god and made water undrinkable then you would believe it"
Back when I was a terrible critic, I made the comparison to SCP-2950 for three reasons:
I'm also to blame for it being purely labeled as a cognitohazard instead of as a memetic effect and cognitohazard, for pretty much the same reasons as above.
Overall, my terrible noob-advice is probably why this scip didn't do that well.
You don't need to feel guilty about this. It was a remark that I needed to point out. If you didn't, then I would have needed to do the same with other similar remarks, but this time on the discussion page, not in the chat or the crit forums.
Your overall feedback was greatly appreciated.
Plus, you weren't the only one that made the cognitohazard/memetic/infohazard error. Plenty of people did the same.
SCP-3463 got an amazing rating and I partly have to thank you for it.
