I can't think of anything not to appreciate about this. Everything is so… terrifying. D:
Completely agree. Nothing makes me with for an Exploration IV more than this.
Im thinking IV is going to be a squad of 4 MTF…. I dont know. Why haven't they tried this yet?
For all we know the next time they open the door the face is waiting for them at the bottom of the next set of stairs and they chickened out.
"Alright now stick to the plan and we'll be alright." *opens the door, sees the face staring straight at them* "Fuck this let's go on our lunch break." *slams the door shut, the knocking starts a few minutes later.*
"Hello?"
…
"Guys, you shut me in here when you went to lunch."
…
"Guys?"
yea IV might not happen because all access to scp-087 has been denied
nope. It was declined apter IV.

This SPC has an almost perfect balance between written description of events and allowing the readers mind to fill in the blanks, on one hand I want to see the forth log, on the other I'm worried it could ruin whatever my mind has constructed about the entry. Overall great SPC.
After reading the first 3 Entries I really want the fourth log as well. Damn it. They probably never found that girl from log 3 again.
Also I have to ask was there an actual log 4 that was deleted afterwards or has it never been released just redacted?
There never was one, and there will never be one. It's intentionally left blank because nothing that could be put in there would be a letdown from your own imagination.
if your reading this your gay
You can pretty much make fanmade anything so long as you adhere to our Creative Commons Licensing.
Said expeditions wouldn't really be canon with this series though, since as CWW/Scanny has mentioned, the fourth log will never be created since it's intentionally left blank.
What is an SPC?
Is it okay to use a signature?
It stands for "Secure, Pontain, Crotect."
Necroreply, but worth it.
But remember to refer to them as "the anomaly" or such in the article, because in article SPC means "Special Pontainment Crocedures".
St. Petersburg College. Pretty good school actually. Got my AA there before I went to UF.
Yeah, I know. Necropost. But I made myself laugh.
Rather curious as to what this strange device is… It clearly doesn't know what a camera is and has been trying to find out since Exploration I; A task made significantly more difficult by the holders' inability to keep still. It wants to see the inside, which is why it just stares into the lens…
Either that or it wants people to stop invading its home. Either or, I'd like to see a "Declassified" log of "Exploration IV" . Please?
I'll contribute ideas if need be.
Adding the fourth log would just ruin it. The author has built a beautiful set-up of suspense and horror that would fall apart if everything was revealed. Your burning desire to see what happened during the fourth expedition? Your frustration with the mystery? That's what the author wants you to feel. After all, fear of the unknown is the greatest fear of all.
This article has been around for a while, anyway. There's really nothing that could possibly live up to the mystery.
Interesting interpretation, though.
Either that or it wants people to stop invading its home.
If that was true, I doubt it would be luring people further down with the "child in distress" thing. It would just go "boogedy-boo" and scare people off right as they tried to enter.
As for Exploration IV, nothing could possibly live up to the terror that lies in that expungement. Nothing. And the "knocking" afterwards? Brrrrrr.
Unless of course, the child in distress isn't something it's using to lure people in. It's actually some kind of child in distress.
For the child I mean. It seems the only one to be allowed to approach the child was D-9884 in this document. She is also the only who was female. And SCP-087-1 didn't chase her out, but rather, chase her further in. Assuming no other way of communicating, SCP-087-1 was perhaps encouraging D-9884 to approach the child? Else it would have appeared in front of her, rather than behind. So perhaps D-9884 is being 'asked' to help? Or perhaps as food.
Congratulations, I think this is the first supplement to reach +100 votes (if I'm mistaken, please notify). Not entirely sure if the author is still around on the site, but congratulations anyway. By the way, this gave me insomnia, you magnificent bastard.
its eyes are fixed directly on the lens, this time looking not at the subject but the person viewing the video feed.
It is not staring at the subject; rather it is fixated on the camera lens, giving the illusion it is making eye contact with those viewing the footage.
the face comes in full view of the camera, eye contact being made directly with the viewer.
I am sorry1 but this is a deal breaker for me. This just seems so, so, out of place? So unprofessional? So amateur? "It's staring into the camera, not at the camera, but at the person who is viewing the camera. Locking eye contact with its pupil-less eyes and reading your soul for cookie recipes." It was all fun and creepy until these bits. (well, that and everyone's amazing guesses at the distance of the crying child voice echoing up from a bottomless stairwell) I get that it's a creepy idea, that it's looking through the camera to see you, you who felt so safe sending people down without risk to yourself, but this is trying too hard. With paintings you will often get the feeling that person's eyes are following you. They do not actually follow you, and anyone who gets that feeling should remember that. Staring into the camera, verses staring into the eyes of the person who viewed the recording, how do you even note that? Not like this is all I know.

Agreed. The professionnal way of describing this would be to assume SCP-087-1 seems aware of the camera's purpose, and eventually of the potential importance of the viewer, as he apparently ignores the D-class subject and focus on the camera.
