This is very useful. I just have one question - why are "parasitic" listed as mutually exclusive with "self-replicating" and "reproductive"? I can easily imagine a self-replicating parasite, or a parasite that both feeds off of its host and hijacks the reproductive system.

All memetic agents are cognitohazards, but not all cognitohazards are memetic.

I will pick one nit: alive does not necessarily imply organic. If memory serves, we have a few items in custody which are inorganic, but give evidence of being alive - 173, for instance.
By the commonly accepted guidelines for being living? No.
173 does not eat, does not reproduce, and does not appear to have biological processes from which its excretions are derived. It is an autonomous sculpture, not a living sculpture.
I thought mind-affecting had been phased out in favor of Cognitohazard. If they're both valid, are they also mutually exclusive? I'm mostly puzzled over what to do about Daniel
As the Attribute Tag Guide defines them, they are two separate concepts that sometimes simply happen to overlap.
cognitohazard means that it's dangerous to observe, whether via sight or sound or what have you. mind-affecting means that it changes the way you think about something, which may or may not include symptoms of insanity.
These two commonly overlap, but aren't the same thing. A bell that causes anyone who hears it to light on fire would be a cognitohazard, but not mind-affecting. A vinyl record that caused anyone within a hundred meters to believe they were a member of the Beatles would be mind-affecting, but not a cognitohazard.
SCP-1040 is both a cognitohazard and mind-affecting (as well as an infohazard, as its effect can occur when you refer to it, and you don't even need to directly observe it. There's nothing wrong with having both tags.
A cognitohazard is something that poses a danger to any subject that perceives it with any of our five physical senses: sight (visual), hearing (auditory), smell (olfactory), taste, and touch.
Oops, I'd always misread "cognitohazard" as "cognitIoNhazard", and thought it meant the same thing as "mind-affecting". Maybe it should be renamed to something that doesn't resemble "cognition"?
(account deleted)There's a couple of things that could be tags. For example: Necrotic. Maybe that tag could go to objects such as 008. Necrotic means affecting or the objects effects involve dead tissue. Here's a couple more i had in mind:

cat and dog lover, please double-check the full tag list to make sure you're not making redundant suggestions. Furthermore, rather than just suggesting tags, could you please provide a couple examples (maybe 5? We don't want to have tags that would only be used for one or two articles) of SCP articles that would use the proposed tag?
