Thanks, I'm so glad you liked it! I wanted to do a lot more than what made it in here - to give the characters a lot more depth, actually show the conflict between the MTF and Maria rather than just hint at it, get into how some Achilles Heel members/overseers feel about their situation in general, show a variety of greens coming out of the rift and how they're each dealt with, come up with something more twisted and memorable for the modernized version of their brain surgery… but I'm so slow that just getting what's here took the whole month.

So only the essentials made it in - worldbuilding for Achilles Heel, and a kind of "technical demo" for what reality bender combat could look like. And now we have all of 2018 and beyond to keep things going and eventually fill in those details :D I'm glad this worked out so well, and I'm already looking forward to the next holiday exchange.

Thank you! Trying to describe action like this feels a bit like painting something abstract - a balancing act of using loose strokes so the viewer's imagination can fill in the gaps, while having just enough structure to stay coherent (I guess that's actually how I write everything, not just action scenes). I feel like I'm still working out that formula, but it's a lot of fun to experiment with.
