SCP Foundation

This is my first SCP! Don't forget to tell me how horrible it is.

I really like the idea. The concept, the backstory, and the item itself is pretty dope, and kinda scary. I don't particularly like the incident report, mostly because I don't think it actually expands on the initial concepts in a meaningful way, but it isn't enough to tank my view on the core concept itself.

However, I don't like the execution of the article. I know this is incredibly unhelpful, but I am having a hard time putting my finger on why. I don't like the way the information is laid out. There is something about the order in which we the reader receive the relevant SCP information that almost feels wrong. At least, thats me trying to figure out why I don't like that portion.

So, a novote for me. It's not horrible at all. I think i'm just being unreasonable.

It's not baaaad. It isn't. It's written and formatted decent, and the anomaly is - mildly discomforting. I don't really know what the tie is between Chernobyl, and evil horse statue. Is it just 'radiation are superpowers?' If it is - okay, that's as fine as a plot device as many, many others have used, it's just not very compelling. And that's really my primary problem is that I just don't quite feel anything about this. I'm not really sure why it has to be a horse, or a statue to be a thing that disappears people. The thing I do like is invoking that old sentiment of a thing the Foundation can't really hope to control or understand but mitigate, but that isn't really milked enough here for my taste.

I don't know, I think I could like this if the individual pieces fit better together. I'm downvoting for now, but with a little work I think this could be better than it is.

The one problem I see with this is it's very forward about what it's about. The whole "it's like the double-slit experiment!" section is what I'm specifically referring to. That removes a lot of potential mystery from what is otherwise an intriguing object. I mean, that test log is pretty neat, not gonna lie. Novote from me for the moment.

For the most part, I enjoyed reading this! But there were a couple things that bugged me.

But yes, i agree that the mysterious part of this scip somewhat diminished when comparison between this and double slit experiment is drawn. My suggestion will either be not mentioning double slit experiment but make sure people can somewhat draw the link themselves, or bring in the implication of double slit experiment as well.

What prevents them from just putting a big cap over the enclosure and putting a building around it if pripyat is cleaned of radiation eventually?

That containment procedure is longer than it should be.
