One of the hallmarks of your writing, is that it feels so believable.
Your characters pop off the page, and I really feel like this is happening. I never have any difficulty reading every word of your articles.
This, as with almost everything I've read of yours, is excellent and deserving of a lot more attention.
EDIT: Also, this is the singular use of justified expungement I've seen on the wiki. A lot of [DATA EXPUNGED] is just "oh this is above your clearance, but like super double keter above your clearance". This is a justified, well intentioned use of it.
It was a while ago (only you have a written record!)
I don't really understand the ending. They realized the Foundation was spying on them, as an as a countermeasure transported them to a different universe?
Sort of. Looks like they realized the deception involving the supposed Persian delegation, so they vanished the meeting site as well as the immediate area. Either they purposefully made it radioactive, or that is just a countermeasure. And then they are still convening somewhere else.
I love this. Interesting concept, likeable characters, and, as mentioned by others, effective use of [DATA EXPUNGED]
I found this article while searching for references to Poland* and I was pleased to find an SCP resonant with Polish history in its themes (and presumably using Poland for that very reason). I am still curious though what their deal was. Any hints or ideas? 😉
*(as I'm gearing up to write for the wiki and wanted to contribute some presence for my country on the OG wiki)
Thanks for reading and good luck with writing! You are correct that Poland was picked deliberately for the historical themes.
Their deal is whatever you want because no canon etc, but if you want to know how I imagine it, I thought of it in two ways which I never decided what was what.
1) the boring way - that this is just normal Poland (or alternate universe Poland, but basically still a world which looks the same as reality) who were either a historical founding member, or invited to join as an honorary member, for the above historical reasons
2) the ill-formed, pretentious way - that this Poland comes from an alternate universe that is also similar to our own, but there is some kind of way in which historical 'losses', exile or displacement are quantified, and restitution is sought, either as a spiritual belief system, or a 'currency', maybe a bit like Civilization score points. In this situation Poland 2 is seeking their historical rights, not in like, an irredentist, restore-the-commonwealth-way, but in a way that the national psyche/spirit will return to its rightful place where it should have been if not for, say, the Deluge (SWEDES!!!) and partitions. What does this actually mean? Nothing, really, but in this alternate universe it might.
To be honest I thought that the answer is a mix - it is normal Poland, but with delusion of being oppressed, controlled (e.g. by EU) and therefore being a member.
I'm a sucker for anomalous activity phrased in formal language, and people having to impersonate others to avoid suspicion, so I loved this.
