SCP Foundation

This is actually the second time I've posted these ideas, but the first time was well over a year ago. Now I want to know the opinions of those who are new to this business, and veterns as well who likely have a different viewpoint than they once did.

I have TWO ideas here, and this doesn't mean I will use just one of them! It DOES mean that I may or may not use BOTH, but only if both of them are good enough to become drafts and even SCPs!

Apparently I don't know how to do any of this right, so now I ask for you to give me some ideas as to what I could possibly do for these creatures. What would be some good stories to put behind them? Just please let me know your ideas!

The Spider: A very large humanoid spider that has quite a lot of intelligence, and allows the SCP Foundation to research her in exchange for proper resources to survive as well as knowledge (e.g. books, newspapers, computer, etc.). My plan for this creature is to literally tell her own story to the researches as she answers all their questions they ask. What is revealed can vary, so do tell me your ideas!

Idea(s):
-Uses the Foundation to create and develop her 'web' (metaphorical term for knowledge in this case)

The Darkness: A large group of humanoid creatures that when entering a certain level of darkness will be rendered completely invisible and untouchable while being able to see and touch/attack those within the darkness with them (basically they become somewhat like ghosts). They can be removed from this state by the slightest amount of light being shined on them (e.g. a laser pointer), but will try to destroy the light if there are no other creatures with them that will use ambush tactics to attack the light source. They also multiply presumably asexually while in darkness. Tell me your ideas for these things!

Idea(s):
-Possibly able to turn other beings (e.g. animals and humans) into one of them through unknown means, and could randomly show some similarities to whatever they once were. For example, one that was once human could possibly have some capacity for communication through the human language.

It's better to handle ideas in separate threads, as they get confusing when together. I'll handle these as-is though.

The Spider:
Humanoid anomalies are hard to write. There is no reason this can't work with a good story - but just spider-person (especially with Foundation cooperation, which is generally frowned upon) doesn't seem like it can go anywhere compared to, say, the Rocket Surgeon.

The Darkness:
Seems like random thing that kills you. What counts as a 'certain level of darkness'. Like inside of caves? is there a scientific way to measure what does and doesn't work? Photons? As humanoids, they do fall into the same category as the spider - they're tricky to write and have to be pretty well done in order to succeed. Just wanton violence isn't going to get you too far, with lots of other articles doing either better or more interesting violence in most cases. Why do they need be violent, anyway?

Of the two, I find the Spider most interesting. If you want three examples of SCP's that allow themselves to be confined, I recommend looking up SCP-343 (It's a series one SCP, but one of the earliest I know of, that did the willingly contained form of containment.) SCP-347 which was captured but agreed to confinement in exchange for food/protection. And SCP-2662 which is confined for its own benefit. Since it has to deal with rather troublesome cults.

The Spider
Okay so humanoid spider, in my head I'm getting various images of what this is supposed to look like. Are you going for more insect-like? Like multiple eyes, a carapace shell, spinneret and large fangs? Or is this more humanoid, with spider elements, like a human with 4 additional arms. Similar to the superhero webcomic Spinnerette?

You could also go for an in-between look, like the cute spidergirl in the short webcomic, Mosquito Season by VanRipper over on DA. I personally think you should go for one of the more insectoid appearances. Sorta give her more unnaturalness to her appearance.

These are just some ideas to help flesh out this idea of yours.
