SCP Foundation

Hello everyone, I've been brainstorming a new SCP for a while now and I think I have come up with a fairly original one (if it is similar to any others just tell me). So the premise of this one revolves around a forest in NH. The forest came into foundation attention when police were called about teens going missing in a forest, and the police described the forest as "midnight during the daytime". I'm thinking the object class would be either safe or euclid.

SCP-####-1: This is actually the forest itself, which upon stepping inside, is permanently night time. Looking at the forest on the outside, it appears to follow a normal day-night cycle. The borders of the forest actually follow the border of the park in which it is located, and is not bigger on the inside, it follows the park acreage.

SCP-####-2: This will be the monster that resides in the forest. It superficially resembles a deer, but with the a body made out of plant material (it's covered in bark, mold, lichen, and it's antlers have leaves) and it's head is actually a lamp post light. Within the forest this monster can appear and disappear at will, and is attracted by lights, loud noises, and whatever SCP-####-3 sees. While SCP-####-2 lacks eyes and a mouth, it can see and produce "deer-like" sounds. This monster can focus the light on it's head into a single beam that it shines on humans who enter the forest. With prolonged exposure any person that is hit by this beam will become an instance of SCP-####-3. This sequence lasts ten seconds, if stopped, the human will not become an instance of SCP-####-3. The monster seems either unfazed or unaffected by bullets, unless shot in the head. If the monster is shot in the head it screeches and disappears in a flash of light. Shooting the monster will only make it more aggressive though.

SCP-####-3: Instances of SCP-####-3 are the remains of the human victims of SCP-####-2. These objects are small dead trees woven in and around the body of a victim. While the body can be displaced by the sudden growth of the tree, the face always shows. The face of the victim is distorted and out of the eyes and mouth is a stream of light. SCP-####-2 is connected to these objects, and whatever they see, it sees. The ten second process that turns people into instances of SCP-####-3 appears to be excruciatingly painful (due to the scream and burn left by the beam) those stopped have described it as a "cleansing" experience, and have a desire to finish the process. This memetic effect only lasts about a day or two.

Right now, you've got a place and a couple characters, but what's really going to matter is what you do with them. What's the story you want to tell with them?

As a comparison, take a look at SCP-2845 and SCP-1730. 2845 has a deer-monster (very different from yours, don't worry about copying), but the story is really about the nature of divinity and belief, and the development of excruciatingly difficult ritual. In 1730, you've actually got a whole host of monsters to choose from. But you'll notice that the narrative never considers the mere existence of one of them as the complete story.

You're going to want to do something similar with this idea. You've got a night grove with a lamp monster that kills with the lamp. That's all beautifully rendered, but you've got to think about what it means. Some possible questions you might want to answer: Why is the grove there? What legends have come up as a result of its presence? How has the nearby community been affected by the existence of the grove, and by its legends? What does this mean for the Foundation? Why does it feel "cleansing"? What actually happens to the monster's victims?

In short, what does it all mean within the greater existence of the world?
