Ehh… yeah, the concept boils down to:
When SCP-XXXX is worn by any personnel with functioning hands, the anomalous effects will activate. If personnel comes into contact with an object, the object will begin to show signs of severe decomposition within 2-5 seconds.
Wording issues I found:
- personnel is plural. Personnel member is singular. Do multiple people have to wear the gloves for the effect to manifest?
- "functioning hands" is a little vague here.
- what designates "an object" in this context? Or "contact", for that matter? If something bumps into them, does that get the decomposition effect, or do they have to physically touch things with their hands while wearing the gloves?
The long bullet list of random materials seems kind of like fluff text and is unnecessary. The fact that a lot of those materials seem taken from Minecraft (granted, you didn't have obsidian, so… props for that I guess) doesn't help. Also, why are "wood" and "organic substances" both listed?
I don't think this will do well on the site, sorry. Right now, you have an object with a clearly defined activation and function, with no context or backstory, essentially a generic magic object. The abundance of test log material doesn't really change that; while the format you have might have done alright 8+ years ago, the audience of today will need to see more.
I recommend getting the base idea polished up in the Ideas and Brainstorming forum before you try fixing the draft. Go to that forum, post a quick summary of the concept you want to write up (don't link the draft unless someone asks), and reviewers there can help you make the idea more interesting and give you some advice on structuring the eventual article for smoothness of reading and narrative.
