Wouldn't that cause people to go insane from brain overload? Plenty of people have a hard enough time dealing with their own one consciousness.

I dunno about this. Why does it exist? Why does it do the things it does? What you have currently isn't going to be enough for much more than a paragraph or two of description, and it's a little bland.

The "those are not good examples" thing. Quite a few of the older series I articles find their appeal more in novelty, nostalgia, and/or site history than in being strong examples to follow. To put it metaphorically: the original Godzilla was a groundbreaking monster movie with a strong plot, it has a great importance in the history of numerous genres and cinema as a whole. And because of that we ignore the numerous really bad special effects.

It seems to me that you just really aren't a fan of this idea, and while I appreciate the feedback you've given you have basically shot down every attempt I've made to further explan my thoughts

Listen to Zyn, she knows what she's talking about. Quite a bit of the point of early-stage critique is to point out flaws in an idea that will need to be addressed. In this case, the problem isn't the object being a ring or a pair of glasses; the shape of an SCP matters far less than what that SCP does, and the events it causes or was caused by. As Zyn has pointed you have a basic idea for an effect, but that's not enough- you need to keep digging at the idea, asking things like "What will the reader expect, and what can I write instead of that?", and "What changes can I make to this raw idea that will allow me to tell a story I've never read before?"
