SCP Foundation

So this SCP is just 4 limbs and a head. If the limbs are given to a person that is also missing said limbs then they will attach themselves to the person. After around 30 seconds the person is fused with the limb. After around 2 hours the person gains some form of enhancement depending on which limb they received. Somewhat enhanced intelligence, Enchanced combat & tactics, better empathy, and control. Traits a good King should have. (Relatively) However, after 12 hours or so the person loses powers and has side effects. Ahem. Hemorrhages, myocardial rupture, passing out, or being possessed! It depends on the person. Any person that is not the king will eventually be rejected by the limbs and is detached. If a torso is brought and all four limbs and head is attached the Mad King is released, seeking to rule over all land once again. That's just some thoughts I had. I thought it was cool so some feed back I appreciated.

Ok let's see what we have here…

So I'll be honest, this reads more like a game description with stats than an SCP article. You have a lot of mechanics, but no real meat to the idea. So I'm just going to go into the parts that feel salvageable, although it's kind of discarding most of it.

Mostly I think you have one somewhat usable thing here - if I fuse a bunch of limbs together I get "The Mad King" (which being entirely honest is a name that's hard to take seriously, but that's details right now). I think that if you want to do anything with this piece, you're going to have to focus on the body horror of just having extra limbs, and who the Mad King is and that person's story.

This means answering questions like -

• Who was the Mad King?
• Was he always Mad? If not what made him mad?
• Why is he split up into his appendages?

At the end of the day, the Mad King should feel like a fully fleshed out character in order for this to work, since the other mechanics don't have much depth to them, so this is the main direction you can take your story.

Also the "seeking to rule of all land" feels like an incredibly generic villain goal. It doesn't have any personality to it, unless you can give it an interesting motivation.

So yeah, while I think this feels incredibly barebones, and requires a large change in direction, if you want to salvage it, I suggest focussing on the Mad King as a character, and then sprinkle in some body horror. Although you can't rely on the body horror, since generally people see that as icing on the metaphorical body cake¹.

Also… you probably won't want to use a picture of this thing. Like, I know body horror invites interesting pictures, but here you should just use your words. Generally pictures of body horror type things feel cheap anyways, and should not be needed to carry the writing. Gore for gore's sake is not what an SCP should be. It should be a story first and foremost.
