So I decided to go with a more 'funny' SCP idea. Please note when looking through this idea that I intend for it to be included on the main list, and NOT as a joke SCP, so please provide your feedback accordingly.
The main premise for the object is that it is a recording of the Tears for Fears song, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".
When played, an entity will manifest, taking on the appearance of a random deceased tyrant, emperor, conqueror, etc. from history (i.e. Alexander the Great, Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler, etc.).
The entity always wears performance clothing, reminiscent of normal clothing from the reflected person's culture and time period, with an 80's MTV kind of flare to it.
The entity will sing the song in the primary language of the person being reflected, (i.e. Alexander the Great in Greek, Napoleon Bonaparte in French, Adolf Hitler in German, etc.)
Anyone within ear shot of the singing will feel compelled to listen to it to the end, although this can be resisted with a bit of concentration, especially if they are already aware of its effects.
Should someone listen to it all the way through, listening to at least roughly one third of the song, and the very last note, (not the last word, but the last note of the song), the affected people will have their personalities and memories altered to that of the person being reflected by the entity.
This includes becoming fluent in the primary language of the person, along with all of his/her memories, ambitions etc. All traces of the former personality appear to be completely erased. The subjects also appear to be more like exaggerated caricatures of the tyrants they represent, refusing to think about/discuss anything not having to do with their plans for world conquest.
The subjects affected by this SCP's effects are susceptible to any damage a normal person would be, and may be terminated if need be.
The recording used for this SCP could be a CD with only one song burned on it, and can be played in any kind of CD player with a working stereo system. Entity produced by the song enters the room via some form of blind spot before the lyrics start. Should there be no blind pot available to the entity, the song will simply begin to 'skip', and replay the introductory instrumental part of the song until right before the lyrics, until a blind spot is available or the CD is removed.
Once the entity appears, the CD and system playing it seem to become inconsequential to the effects of the object, with attempts to remove the CD, or turn off the system playing possible, but do not make the entity de-manifest or make the music stop.
Once the song is over, the entity will de-manifest by exploding into a cloud of confetti, smoke, sparks, and or glitter. Analysis of these materials show them to be non-anomalous.
SCP is to simply place the CD in a secure locker on site, and no CD playing devices nearby. Guarded by one guard with earplugs on hand, and may be used for testing on D-Class.

Foreword: Thank you all for your feedback so far. This is an add-on to the concept with the feedback I've been given up to this point. Part I addresses Zyn's feedback, and Part II addresses omnibenevolence's feedback.
Part I: If I were to add more of a backstory to this idea, I am concerned as to whether that would give it the last push into the territory of a joke SCP. I understand that I'm already on a bit of a razor's edge with how odd and silly the concept is, but I wonder if adding more 'behind the scenes' stuff will just come across as hammered in.
That Being Said!
I do understand that if I write it well, it could push it in the direction of a better main list article. So here's an idea of a story for the object:
It was located in the home of a history professor with a love for 80's music. After his students failed multiple exams, he wanted to develop a new way to teach his students using music, but was fired before he could finish it, after not showing up for work for several days.
He was found in his home speaking fluent Japanese. Claiming to be Emperor Hirohito and demanding to know where he was, and why.
He wrote the class he was going to use his CD for on it, "History 213", (listed in the university's records as a class titled, "The Art of War (Course Description: A Look at Civilization's most Infamous Despots and their Campaigns for World Conquest)"). How he managed to create SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties is currently unknown, and he is currently detained and being questioned.
This is just a rough idea for the story, and of course will later be updated to Foundation format; (i.e. interviews, notes, journals found in the house, showcasing the Professor's decline of his own personality, etc.) I will also incorporate a way for this to initially draw Foundation attention, such as his neighbors experiencing similar phenomena.
Part II: Adding in progressive symptoms is an idea I'd be willing to explore. As stated in Part I's story idea, I would probably have the change occur within a few days or so.
With mannerisms reflecting the person the entity depicted beginning to show within the first few minutes within hearing, and slowly progressing to gaining knowledge of the person's ambitions and plans, followed by some intruding memories, then partial language acquisition, until complete and total personality conversion.
Also planning on including some interviews with subjects in different stages, as well an experiment log documenting the different people the entity has reflected. Could even ask them some questions that will be historically accurate, etc.
If you have any further suggestions on this for me, please let me know!
The following are possible trivia facts that will be incorporated into the article. These will be replacing the "personality rewrite" effects the object presents, and will hopefully keep the concept focused while adding more connection to the object's background (an unfinished educational tool).
I am planning on presenting this trivia in an experimental format, with the researcher involved requesting a specific dictator "singer", and the requested singer leaving behind a different object each time it dematerializes.
For instance, if the dictator that sang the song allegedly had a love for clocks and how they work, the entity may leave behind a "build your own pocket watch kit" and so forth. I plan on leaving the objects somewhat vague as to what piece of trivia they represent to further drive home the unfinished "educational tool" concept, as well as encourage the reader to look up what said trivia could be about.
Here are a list of some ideas for some objects left behind I've thought of so far:
Napoleon Bonaparte:
- a copy of the book Clisson et Eugenie, autographed with "Ton ami, Nabulio." (Your friend, Nabulio.)
- A list of statistics of average heights for the time period, with napoleon’s height (1.68m) circled multiple times in red marker
- a medical journal detailing the signs and symptoms of stomach cancer
- a copy of Beethoven’s 3rd symphony
- a pair of model submarines of very primitive design, positioned strategically on a map of St. Helena
Adolf Hitler:
- a collection of digestion aids
- a large collection of paintings considered by the majority of those who see them as “mediocre”
- Several posters advertising various circuses
- a collection of gypsy music
- multiple comedy films that were at the time banned from Germany many of which are Jewish
Alexander the Great:
- a large collection of high society, time period accurate Persian clothing/outfits
- a large amount of honey and a variety of embalming tools
- a suit of Greek battle armor believed to belong to Alexander, with an odor described by all personnel as “pleasant”
Genghis Khan:
- a severed head with the eye sockets and mouth filled with silver
- a horse tail with sticks tied around it, probably used for kicking up dust in the battlefield
- A coin, a portrait, and a sculpture of Genghis Khan with his face, and facial structures completely absent from each
- a large collection of papers, detailing over 16 million people supposedly descended from Genghis Khan
I could add descriptions of what the trivia object is referencing in the experiment log as well if need be, but the idea I'm going for here is a "clever nod" to the trivia, rather than explaining outright what the trivia is. Please let me know what you think.
Thank you for your time and feedback.
