I'm trying to come up with a name for a device capable of transmitting low-level psionic signals that connects to a computer. Basically, think a USB Wi-fi adapter for psionic transmissions.

To clarify, in the Scip I am writing, this device and software which can create memetic hazards is used to create what is essentially malware for the brain and send signals to infected individuals. Basically, a botnet made of people.

Also, I know people have had concerns with other Scips that using words like "psionic" is a bit too cheesy, but I am not sure how to write it so that it isn't too difficult to understand the concept otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions?

"Psionics" was coined by John W. Campbell and as such is definitely part of the overall sf canon that we are part of. I don't really see any issue with using it (people use Adams' Somebody Else's Problem fields here so psionics shouldn't be a problem). I don't think that I have ever seen it be a problem with an article.

"Telepathic Network Hub/Switch/Router" seems like the sort of thing that you want though.
