The setting of this SCP is an abandoned town that has no records of existing, some human skeletons here and there. In it, toys are alive and fighting in a great war among each other on two sides. They are alive as long as they are not far away from the town. Some toys are able to fire rounds. For example, a toy tank would fire a small artillery round.
All sort of toys would be present but the most common are green army men, they have the most casualties. Also, some of the toys improvise to engage in combat. For example, a baby doll would arm themselves with a stick and have make-shift armor (a frightening enemy in the field).
The toys are not hostile to humans or animals and will mostly ignore them, though they will defend themselves. The toys only care to fight the opposing side. The story of why the toys are fighting is what I am currently pondering. One motive is that they are fighting for the affection of a kid long gone.
The main thing about this idea is that it will have lengthy exploration logs (done perhaps via drone) with observations of instances in combat and brief interviews. It is a way to do some world building and how the toys live (there will be visits to like 'bases' and 'towns'). Maybe have some recovered notes from the former town residents back when the toy war began too. Overall, it be fun to write epic battles. I even have a few scenes planned out.
Thoughts?
P.S. What name for the SCP is better, "The Great Toy War" or "When Good Toys Go To War"?
