SCP Foundation

I just woke up figured I'd share it. It could make an interesting SCP

There was a town I think up in the mountains. They were having a celebratory festival. After the local basketball team lost instead of being kinds down because they lost they were all going to commit suicide by walking out the door overlooking a cliff. This wasn't completely mindless because one of them was intending to kill themself later but the team agreed to do it as a team so he had to be convinced. One of them had a pleasant conversation with their younger brother as if they were just heading off to college. While another was making sure the girl from out of town understood exactly what was happening. Then one by one they , and a couple other people from town headed out the door to die.

I guess the first thing that comes to mind is how does the Foundation know this is anomalous instead of just a "normal" group suicide pact. Justify that element, and you do have the potential for a creepy and or emotional story. However, your handling of the subject matter is of key importance here. Many articles, moreso from new writers but occasionally from veterans as well, default to using suicide as a plot device to create shock value without giving the subject the respect and contextualization it deserves. Don't make it feel gratuitous, else your audience will dismiss it as edgy and tasteless.
