Hey friends so this is an idea for a new SCP, but I wanted to get input.
Basically, I want your opinion on the viability of the concept, as well as knowing if its beating a dead horse. It will be my second article. I'm doing to briefly describe my SCP and some of its effects and would like of opinions on the effects and what direction it should take if possible.
Description:
Anomalous Sweet potatoes with novelty bow-ties on them, produced from a non-existent farm and sold to small general stores across America. These potatoes, when purchased by a person in a committed relationship will begin to become infatuation with the object. This invariably leads to anger jealousy and hatred on the part of one or both subjects. This ultimately ends in the murder or attempted murder of one of the affected subjects.
Upon the death of the significant other, the potato will start to rot as a normal potato would, causing the effect to cease leading to regret and guilt over the murder. Coupled with the fact they cannot provide a logical reason for their actions (who is going to believe a potato had anything to do with it?).
Summary of effects and some options I want options on:
- Makes subject who purchases object become the sole individual affect. (option 1)
- Makes both subjects in the relationship begin to fight for the SCPs perceived affection, resulting in the demise of one or maybe both subjects. (option 2)
- Any pictures or video taken with the object will instead show a human (male or female of various ethnic groups) of unknown origin or background. This is an attempt by the sweet potato to fool others into thinking this is just a relationship problem involving another human and not a potato.
- The expiration of the SCP leads to the cessation of effects (option 1 and my personal choice)
- The death of the significant other causes the effect to cease (option 2)
So, what do you think? Obviously I’ll flesh it out, format it properly and all that. but this is the gist of the effects and what it is and where it came from. Please let me know, I look forward to and advise or propositions.
