Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### is the only known host
Don't tell us what thing are in containment. Say what is needed to contain them.
streptococca timarchus (aka the “Timarchus Virus”).
Firstly, scientific names go in italics. Secondly, don't include the stuff in quotes — that's not a real disease that exists, and the Foundation wouldn't bother including a nickname they gave this thing on the official records like this.
Weekly blood drawing are required as ██████████ requests updates on condition for continued medical research.
I had to real this sentence four times to get what you meant — the blackout is really confusing.
Do not speak
"Personnel are not to"
The cages of rats are not food but synthetic secondary hosts for SCP-####.
Don't tell us what the rats or cages are. Tells us any instructions for care or containment.
In essence one person
Bolded part is unnecessary fluff.
catches the infection
"is infected"
a symbiotic bacteria that infects secondary hosts.
I've taken exactly one college level biology course but yet I know this doesn't make sense. Or, at least, I can't seem to get anything about how this works — is the bacteria somehow transformed by the infected person's body? How is it symbiotic to him? I mean, if it's infecting over people, isn't that a parasitic s. relationship with them?
I'm not an expert, and I didn't do much beyond googling this for thirty seconds, but I'm getting the strong feeling there was little research put into this.
This is also the place where I would have downvoted and moved on. So, because I've basically been addressing every single sentence so far, I'm gonna stop my close read and go straight to concept.
