Okay, here we go. Quick read since this fell to page 4 and I'm cleaning up the forums. Here are my thoughts:
First off… containment procedures are missing, so uh…
Regarding the rest:
- "edges with dimensions of 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm, and a thickness of 0.5 cm." > this is a little difficult to visualize. Maybe just state that the box is a cube with edge length 30 cm, and edge thickness 0.5 cm. Although some people are a little tired of seeing cubes as anomalies.
- "Once this occurs, the objects inside are transported by unknown means to an unknown location" > how can the Foundation confirm this? What's preventing them from concluding that the object just vanishes into nothingness for that period of time?
- These objects will eventually end up back in the possession of the individual of the person who placed them inside the box, through a variety of means. > pretty much the entirety of the draft can be summarized with this.
Right now, you have an object with a clearly defined activation and function, with no context or backstory, essentially a generic magic object. I recommend adding some more to this, because at this point the idea seems to be more of an entry on the log of anomalous items than an SCP object that would merit special Foundation containment.
I do see some appeal in the simplistic approach, but it does end up a little bland as it is right now. Maybe good to take this to the Ideas and Brainstorming forum to polish up the concept before progressing with the draft.
