SCP Foundation

Hey everybody! Long time fan first time post etc. etc.

I'm just curious if anyone has done an SCP similar to how the Boggart is portrayed in the Harry Potter series. My idea is an SCP that changes into a subjects deepest animal fears. Not just an image, but completely physically. I most like the implications for containment. If anyone with security access to SCP-682 knew about it, for instance, that could be a very bad problem.

Is there a way to search for SCPs in a way to find out if your idea has already been covered sufficiently enough?

Wholesale copying of a Harry Potter style Boggart would just be in poor taste, if not outright plagiarism. An original take on the monster from folklore is one thing, but if you want to just take existing characters and concepts from other fiction and plop them into this context then that isn't ok.

In regards to checking if an idea has been done, just ask around in the IRC chat or use google. e.g. When I was writing SCP-3480 I googled "SCP Mt. Olympus" and finding no results similar to my own, proceeded with the draft.
