How about a mind altering book that will an actual tumor in the brain of anyone who reads it. The tumor then mind controls the reader to go on a murderous rampage while making the person think they are in a wonderland of fun and amazement.

I'm open to suggestions like

What if the tumor is an egg that hatches into a brain eating Pixie and flies away to a colony of its carnivorous kind and lure children to their hive?

Or what if the tumor teleports people to the lair of a giant multidimensional psychic spider that feasts on memories.

So I'm open to changes.

The biggest issue with this idea is that there's a bunch of different plot points thrown together that don't link coherently. Why does the book cause a tumor? Why does said tumor make you go crazy? Why does the craziness lead to murder with a wonderland hallucination? How does an extradimensional spider fit in?

There's too many moving pieces. It feels more like a laundry list of different ideas thrown together rather than a single coherent idea. You need to fully develop ideas for them to be compelling to readers and to bring thematic depth. Quantity over quality doesn't work in this scenario.

If you want to pursue something along these lines, I recommend cutting out the chaff and refocusing on two aspects: the extradimensional spider and the wonderland hallucinations (without the tumor or craziness). Focus on the experience of being slowly lured into its literal and figurative web while succumbing to happy delusions. Perhaps it happens slowly then they disapear. Perhaps the foundation is wondering why these people are becoming super happy and then vanishing a few days later. The spider's reveal could make a pretty good climax.

Its not ready to be draft. So what 30 minutes of thought is enough to make a draft? Anything can be changed, like the book pulls people into it, or everyone who reads it says its by the same author. Or its part of a series of books, or anything.
