Wow, I want to punch Vector in the face.
Nicely done.
I had this same problem with the MC&D catalog and am now actually considering changing my vote on that one because of this. It feels more like "putting already made skips into the format of a GOC document" than anything else, added with "Iris is now GOC." Nothing particularly innovative really catches my eye. -1
Yet this is simply answering the question that is created by the context of this canon: "If the Foundation isn't containing these things, then what happened with them?" I know that I for one want to know, and thus I find all these entries to be excellent.
I will say that it's moderately annoying to include Iris specifically, but then I've never been a big fan of her anyway and felt she was way overused. Still worth the read.
As for answering that posed question, I would still say that it's not particularly innovative. GOC shoots it, MC&D sells it, etc. In fact, a parts of these pieces feel like they are just transferring over information into a different form of documentation than the original articles.
As for Iris, I actually am not bothered from that, given the inclusion of Pandora's Box in the intro tale. I just don't particularly like what's been done with the article at the moment. Again, if this ends up tying in well to future pieces, I'll probably reconsider my vote.
At least in the case of Vector, it does add something: namely, what would happen if the wannabe super villain hadn't been contained and had had her behavior escalate?
As for Iris… yeah…
But overall, I think that this is fun enough to merit an upvote. I would definitely like to see more things like Vector (what would happen if the Foundation didn't contain it?) and less things like the MC&D catalog (same object, just from a slightly different perspective).

I did find this part interesting, but not enough to really influence me strongly enough to really like the piece overall.

This would be excellent.
Maybe I should clarify: this piece is intended to be an interstitial. It's not part of the contest, just a secondary piece related to it.
Sorry to nitpick…
virii
I know a lot of people pluralize "virus" like this, but it really should be "viruses". "Virii" would be the plural of "virius" which isn't even a word. The Latin word "virus" means "poison", and is already plural, in the same way that "water" is plural in English. If you really want a Latin plural of "virus", it would be "viri" (also not a real word).
EDIT:
E. Coli
should be "E. coli" (lowercase c)
And 'process similar to osmosis'-biochemists have a word for this kind of feeding. You want active uptake.
Actually, if you want to *really* be technical, the original Latin for virus has no plural, being a "mass noun" like air or valor. Source
Kinda like people want to make Octopi the plural of Octopuses, even though if you were going with the original Latin it would be Octopodes.
Good that Iris got a chance at a happy life, too. Shows the GOC are more on the side of Angels, even though I tend to be inclined toward the Hand.
Octopodes would be following Greek grammar, which is more appropriate given the word's etymology.
I just write octopuses though.
How is "water" plural?
I've only ever heard it refer to a single conceptual mass, while "waters" talks about masses separated either physically or conceptually.
The water in the river is dirty. The waters of many of the worlds rivers are polluted.
This is two-weeks late, utterly off-topic, and your actual point is perfectly valid; so feel free to not satisfy my curiosity.
I guess I'm supposed to hate Vector, but I do think she's completely right, and I like her. Even though her manifesto reads more like you're making fun of what certain people believe rather than a real manifesto. Still, +1.
It reads like the manifesto of a sixteen year-old who's just started reading Noam Chomksy and Howard Zinn and imagines that they know everything1. And is a walking bio-hazard. And is threatening to kill millions of people because 1) the Holocaust 2) whaling.
why the fuck do kids think noam chomsky is so goddamned cool. as a leftist thinker, he is easily-digestible, liberal trash. and jesus, i missed out on her being sixteen. yes, this makes more sense now.
