Unfinished business, now finished.
Before anyone in the know gets on Djoric's case about this: I agreed to let him have this slot. The thing I'm working on is going to go up, still, whether as a tale or something else, I cannot say.
At least your thing will be on the site in some form, sooner or later. I guess it might work better as a tale.
But this? This would have been a fine skip in any other slot, but it feels like a poor replacement for the original SCP-2722.
RIP, SCPS Solidarity.
Nevermind.
Idk if these are intentional or not, but several "SCP-2722" instances in the text are improperly capitalized
I wanna fix but idk if this will mess up the article
I do not get this. It's a creepy thing what keeps track of astronaut deaths and jabbers at you if you get too close. Also, it collects random space garbage?
The last two lines should give part of it away, at least.
One man, five women, who would name something "The Big Gun" and run around with a flag with a black rabbit on it.
…I thought that symbol sounded familiar.
I then have to question whether this can stand on its own. I mean, Black Rabbit Company is a separate skip, and the tales about them taking the Solidarity persist as well.
But unless you've read those, and/or lived through the original 2722 before it was taken down, is this going to make any sense? Like, is the entire point of this homage, or am I still missing the picture?
The point is mostly to plug the hole for my own personal satisfaction. A bit overly egotistical, perhaps, but the site climate being what it is and circumstances being what they are I decided that I'd indulge myself one final time.
Don't get this at all, and it seems to make a lot of assumptions about knowledge the reader has.
- Don't know what a stele is
- Don't know what the karman line is
- Mention of minimum safe distance comes out of nowhere is and pretty jarring.
- Sudden mention that this is apparently a ship of some kind comes out of nowhere.
- Don't understand the relevance of any of those recovered items.
Ultimately, I just don't get this at all. Feels either massively unfinished or the middle section of some story I've never read.
The first two points are easily answered by Wikipedia. The third I will agree with. The fourth is predicated upon the article that held this slot previously. As for the fifth, it's the bodies of SCP-2085 - there's only one group on this site of five women and one dude who are associated with 2722, would name something "The Big Gun", and fly the banner of the black rabbit.
I think you might need to footnote Karman Line, for the same reason that I reluctantly footnoted how shrikes hunt on SCP-2323.
Should this be added to the Stealing Solidarity hub?
can I get some nice "no signatures on my forum"
sigma-9 css machine broke broke
understandable have a nice day
But why is this a carbonated plant? I don't get it!
Why the stele?
This is.. hmm. The problem with this weird, but very real. The problem with this is that it's not as good as Ihp's 2117. Nor is it as good as Video Killed the Radio Star, which may be a more closer point of comparison.
That might not be a problem under normal circumstances, but, well, I can't help but feel that we don't need two entirely separate- and, indeed, contradictory- articles to fill the hole the original 2722 left.
I hope that doesn't come across as an unfair reason for a downvote.
Not in the slightest. With Ihp's far-better article up, the eventual fate of this one is not a particular concern of mine. The circle is closed.
If you barely care about this skip, is it worth keeping it posted? I apologize if I'm wrong, but this looks a lot more like an intra-site reference/politics/memorial or something than an SCP entry.
