The firefly seems to be some kind of living energy construct thats looking for a vessel to contain itself. That or some kind of mobile, likely living EMP weapon.
Either way, it's an excellent article, No pointless "Lol redacted" or anything. +1.

So I think it's good. I think it's a little obvious for the Foundation to not have figured it out, but it's a good Keter monster. I like monsters.

I like this a lot. I was worries when i saw the photos, immediately thinking "autonomous rogue attack chopper", but this was really good. kind of cute.
I really like the imagery of the ghost helicopter, but I can't bring myself to upvote the concept of Rotom as a skip.
The addendum is weird and interesting but the concept feels sort of convoluted to me, even for such a short article. I can't really identify what's wrong with the writing, but something is just keeping me from liking this.
Some of the initial reactions of the personnel operative to the thing seem unrealistic as far as my headcanon of Foundation procedures goes.

Really like it. The little glowy orb just reminds me of something you might find or play as in an indie video game. And now its an attack chopper. Since it is (seemingly) sentient, I don't think the radio tower trick will last for long.
You know, the Russians were able to "contain" it in their communications room, likely due to analogue (non-electronic) radio sources. Or am I missing something?
I'm +1'ing this because it's written very well, however I must admit I did find it a little boring and was hoping for something more.
Also, it does seem a bit bizarre that the foundation wouldn't at least put in something along the lines of "early theories suggest that SCP-1745 and the "Firefly" are the same entity etcetc." I know it's obvious to us but still.
Wait wait wait… could the containment of this thing be the explanation of UVB-76?
It actually makes sense to me that the firefly and copter aren't explicitly linked, since the foundation knows so little about it. It would make any explanation they gave sound forced or pseudoscience-bullshitty. Though Willjam's suggestion above shows how it could be done without that risk.
You gave me feels for a little ball of Keter light.

The above link to UVB-76 was creepy, like reading a real-life SCP. Not sure it's actually related to this article, but it was neat to read anyway.
As for this, it has a real classic feel to it without feeling dated. It's a good Keter that's foreboding without being overdone.
Happy to add a little creepy to your life! UVB-76 really does have a very SCP feel to it, even filtered through wikipedia.
