Ha, it's been so long since I've posted one I forgot you had to redo the title.
I have another issue;

Can you make it more clear what that has to do with anything?
It was intended to denote the frustration of the writer, but now that you mention it, it does seem irrelevant. Let me see if I can make it a little more clear.
So… he summoned The Little Mermaid from the original Hans Christian Anderson story?
Also, that pic looks more like a rough-cast silver or other metallic ring, rather than one made of concrete.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
That's purely a coincidence, actually. I've never even watched the Disney movie all the way through, much less the original story.
This article is an attempt at Dmatix's Challenge, using the terms ring, concrete, thistle, lobster, and net.
I'm curious to what was actually trying to be accomplished by making the ring.
And that white space in the picture is bothering me. At leadt crop it in MS paint or something.
The picture part is done. The rest I leave to your imagination.
Very odd, but I did find myself enjoying it. The words you got from the challenge weren't exactly easy, so good job making something decent with them.
My thoughts too. I liked the "feel" of the piece, and I couldn't explain to you what that means if I wanted to.
When're these motherfucking kids gonna show up so I can tutor them?
if your reading this your gay
Know how if you ask a plumber about what's wrong with your car, the first thing he looks at are the pipes? Well, I'm bout' to do that, replacing plumbing with Norse myth.
So lets see what we have. There's a concrete ring, very worn even if it is made of concrete, and its first and most obvious effect makes thistle shoot up forth' from the ground. Hm. Thistle, mistle, and all that bristles, heheh. And what is this? Locks of hair that grow and grow? I wonder how many are blondes..
Can't work in the shellfish though, damn it. Maybe Njord or Ægir are interested in something..
It's always facinating to see where your mind goes, Doc. You keep incentivizing me to study back up on my Norse mythology.
Not a bad route to start with when trying to figure this out, but Norse myth actually has very little to do with it.
Hmmm. The Ring, thistle and hair said Norse to me. But after a re-reading…is this, perchance, something mildly-Arthurian related?
You're reading more into this than there actually is.
Don't worry about it. There is some hidden depth, but it has nothing to do with any mythological things. I'd look at a few of my other works for clues.
Oh my, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I liked this anyway. 1+ (I actually upvoted before the comment, I merely forgot to mention it here. Useless memory…)
I have absurdly mixed feelings about this one. I absolutely love the writing. But the effects… I know that they're supposed to be random, but they're almost too random.
No vote while i muse on it.
