SCP Foundation

New SCP. This came about for a couple of reasons - the pun, and the frustration I feel at people with whose sentiments I agree but whose methods seem counterproductive (e.g. I remember a group of protesters who managed to get a politician out of his car and looking at their petition by being reasonable and polite, but then someone at the back started hurling abuse and threw something - so of course the politician left and denounced the people for their violence. The petition was ignored).

The anomalous effect of SCP-1854 occurs when SCP-1854-1 is viewed and SCP-1854-2 is comprehended. Any length of time may pass between these two events without affecting the immediate trigger time of SCP-1854.

Does this mean you need to ehar it and see it at the same time to activate the skip? Just to be more clear.

This is indeed a good piece. Not too short and not too long, with just enough information to close me out satisfied. That it's an Anart piece that has nothing to do with AWCY is also something I like.

One thing I do wonder about though… Since this SCP-1854-2 is basically an infohazard triggered by SCP-1854-1, I'm dubious as to whether or not there's a good reason in-universe to include Addendum 1854-B in the document. This is going to be given to all personnel who are assigned to work on the object. So… after having read this document, none of those people can ever, ever look at the painting they're containing. Having seen the painting itself, one can never ever read this SCP document in its entirety.

The potential for accidental exposure is too high. I have to no-vote until you come up with a way to resolve this.

This is a great concept. It reminds me of the idea that I've seen in several places that congressmen should have to wear suits with the logos and names of everyone who donated to their campaign, sort of like NASCAR.

Yeesh… the Valve logo alone would kill me…

Not bad. The effects of looking at the painting are pretty clever. And thank you for not immediately pigeonholing this as an AWCY item.

I'm sticking a little bit on the way this is bludgeoning the reader, though. In context of the article, I don't see why the Foundation would bother to refute the guy's claims, it doesn't seem relevant at all to containing the object.
