So… how can we know what the content of the etching is, or for that matter what SCP-1674-3 looks like, if there is no exit once one has stepped through? Have subjects shouted what they saw to someone inside SCP-1674?

It took me a bit to get, but when I did, I smiled. I'm vaguely annoyed by the old cliche of a vague note being left by the creator that leaves out any specific details for no obvious reason, but not enough that it stops me from +1ing.

So, from the description, the shifting lines and widening hole remind me a lot of standard camera focus + aperture function, but functionally taking whoever is 'captured' in the focus chamber into what seems like a dimension in a canvas painting, which is why it forcefully tries to convert anything non-native into canvas.
Am I close?
