Brief but impactful. I find that Anoati has seemed more and more sympathetic with every iteration. That's an accomplishment, given how he started out. I regret that he could not return to his original state of clueless self-satisfaction.

Questions, if you don't mind. Is Buck also Alto Clef Jr., and if so, why are they/he an anthropomorphic goose?

My only complaint is that now you’ve done exactly what I was gonna do with Anoati for the next part of my series (minus the being shot part)…damn you for having a strong sense of character! Guess I gotta go shake things up now.
