There is something about the speech at the bottom that gives me a sort of hot-sick feeling in my gut….Good job!
Subject-wise, this one's definitely where my interests lie. So I guess I'm a little let down that the crazy third party feels like a facile "take that" to first-world consumption patterns.
/me shrugs. That's fair criticism, because I certainly wouldn't like an article written about that, but that's not the intent behind this article and if I pulled things off correctly a different idea should certainly be visible.
It doesn't read like that to me. My main complaint is that it seems a bit implausible that this thing hasn't spread way, way out of control yet. If you're going to have a meme this virulent, it will probably unstoppably affect the whole country very quickly. Certainly, this ought to be Keter.
Also, what effect does it have on non-Americans?
mmm, yeah, it's probably keter. making that change.
my headcanon is that the foundation has gotten very good at memetic virus detection—that's why they're constantly scanning every possible form of communication around the world-and that they've also gotten very good at amnestic spray and pray. this means that the most dangerous outbreak would have been the initial outbreak, and plausibly, the massive intergovernmental monolith with nigh-infinite resources and patience could clean that shit up. i'd also say that large numbers of infectees aren't really that good at spreading the virus-if you live in more isolated communities, or if you don't have an internet connection, i guess.
…i'd say that the meme probably doesn't affect non-Americans? But this is something I'm not too sure about and might have to think about more.
I feel that there's a lot of lost potential here. I still think you could have gotten this thing actually elected. On the plus side, you've fixed most of the problems with the addendum and the phrasing is much better. However, I'm afraid it's not enough for me to upvote. As it is, it's neutral for me.
Holy fucking shit that ending.
The skip itself was middling, and to be quite honest I think that ending is wasted on it, but in this case I am willing to overlook that because holy shit.
So much this. I spent the entire article going "Oh, so it's contagious agrarian politics. Eh."
But then that ending. +1!
calls to mind Ronald Reagan All Cut Up in a very good way
I'm not sure how I feel about this article. I like the idea, but I have a personal bias against scips that could very reasonably have horrible unstoppable consequences. But, I'm fond of the idea of the president being an alien/demon/thing that seizes power and mucks up the country. No vote
Still better than [politician of your choice here]. Also, i'm a downright sucker for speeches like the ending. I really want to see what happens if he/it gets elected. +1
