If the dwarf star has one billionth the luminosity of the sun like the entry says, then unless I'm mistaken that's still 385 million billion watts. In other words about twenty-five thousand times the energy used by the entire human race. Or, if you're using long billions, only twenty-five times world energy use. The containment procedures don't seem to reflect this.
Hmmm…
This has a fairly negative rating. While I enjoy this article, this may be because of nostalgia goggles, and the fact that it was one of the first original SCP's.
For those of you who truly think this is a bad article, please respond in why, and how you think it could be improved upon, or even if it could be at all.
It's a cool idea but it just doesn't show enough in the article. There needs to be more of a "this is a motherfucking star on earth!" idea rather than, "just a star, no big deal". I mean, I understand the foundation should be very objective but it should at least have some incident report or something to make it more interesting.

I'm going to try an edit unless anyone objects.
I don't know if this one will be able to survive even after my edits, but here you go. It's still a star, but now it is approaching the end of its life-cycle, which may prove disastrous for those of us here on earth. I toyed with the idea of having the foundation use it as a power source, since a star is by definition a fusion reactor, but I resisted the impulse as being too cute. We'll see how it goes.
I personally like the new edit. Very good work, +1
Thank you. I smoothed over the article again, perhaps this will entice a few more people to take a look. I'd like to get rid of the negative rating, if possible. If anyone sees something that could be improved please let me know!
Awwww, it's cute! Still wouldn't want it anywhere near me unless it was behind a heat sink, possibly a steam plant to absorb the energy "radioisotope-generated electric power system", and a good meter or two of concrete.
Catch a falling star, indeed. Eep. +1
That's actually a pretty cool <g> idea. Radioisotope Thermal Generators work on the same principle, and a Sterling Engine would be even more efficient.
Much better, now that it's a real threat and the silliness is gone. +2 swing!
April fools idea: change "the Beaufort Sea etc." to "Bethlehem, Israel".
Shouldn't this be Keter? I mean, it'll engulf the earth and destroy humanity if they don't figure out how to stop its growth…
I think Keter requires that it be directly dangerous to the world at large, in the immediate. The star is contained at present, is not malicious, and is only exceedingly dangerous at some later period of time.
I could be wrong, but I think it's fine at Safe.
I know the post is old, but I believe Euclid should be the correct categorization. While it is not an immediate threat as of now, it could start the end of it's life-cycle at any time. If this were to happen, it would need immediate attention as to not destroy everything. The fact that it is not yet determined when it shall do so, or the required procedures to stop/reverse the events is what I think should make it Euclid.
What I am wondering is how would an object like this be able to exist? If it is determined to be a star that is undergoing nuclear fission, how can it do so if it's so tiny? The gravity created by something so small that can actually produce fission would be on the verge of becoming a black hole. (If Earth were compressed to the size of a marble, the atoms that comprise it would all be touching each other, and would collapse into a black hole). Something of this nature wouldn't be able to physically exist within this universe using our laws of physics.
Welcome to the SCP Foundation. I see you have need for some… mind-opening.
It's a pun
I think Holbenilord is planning to eat ViperSRT3g's brain.
Possibly. Once you open the skull, what you do is your own decision.
But hey, if you have to explain it :P
Something of this nature wouldn't be able to physically exist within this universe using our laws of physics.
So what you're saying is that it's an SCP? If so, well, that should be fairly obvious.
if your reading this your gay
I would expect that to be a very important point, and consequently the sort of thing that would be mentioned / investigated / discussed in the reports…
That's sort of the point of the SCP. Every one of these objects is, in some way, impossible.

I like it. Simple, short, interesting, and foreboding.
I don't quite know why it isn't Euclid though; if you lock it up and leave it, evidence seems to suggest it might do something catastrophic.
