If the dwarf star has one billionth the luminosity of the sun like the entry says, then unless I'm mistaken that's still 385 million billion watts. In other words about twenty-five thousand times the energy used by the entire human race. Or, if you're using long billions, only twenty-five times world energy use. The containment procedures don't seem to reflect this.

Hmmm…

This has a fairly negative rating. While I enjoy this article, this may be because of nostalgia goggles, and the fact that it was one of the first original SCP's.

I don't know if this one will be able to survive even after my edits, but here you go. It's still a star, but now it is approaching the end of its life-cycle, which may prove disastrous for those of us here on earth. I toyed with the idea of having the foundation use it as a power source, since a star is by definition a fusion reactor, but I resisted the impulse as being too cute. We'll see how it goes.

April fools idea: change "the Beaufort Sea etc." to "Bethlehem, Israel".

Shouldn't this be Keter? I mean, it'll engulf the earth and destroy humanity if they don't figure out how to stop its growth…

What I am wondering is how would an object like this be able to exist? If it is determined to be a star that is undergoing nuclear fission, how can it do so if it's so tiny? The gravity created by something so small that can actually produce fission would be on the verge of becoming a black hole. (If Earth were compressed to the size of a marble, the atoms that comprise it would all be touching each other, and would collapse into a black hole). Something of this nature wouldn't be able to physically exist within this universe using our laws of physics.

I like it. Simple, short, interesting, and foreboding.

I don't quite know why it isn't Euclid though; if you lock it up and leave it, evidence seems to suggest it might do something catastrophic.
